surprise,excite,satisfy など、感情を表す動詞は、多くの場合、"物"を主語に、"人"を目的語にとり、「"物"が"人"に～させる」と直訳されます。

【例文】

（そのニュースは私を驚かせた。＝私はそのニュースに驚いた。）

＝ The spectators were excited at the tennis game.
（そのテニスの試合は観客を興奮させた。＝観客はそのテニスの試合に興奮した。）

【問題解答】
1.Your efforts pleased me at that time.
Iが余分です。Iを主語にした場合、I was pleased with your efforts at that time.
2.He was disappointed at your absence.
wasが不足しています。Your absence を主語にするならば、heではなくhimが必要です。
3.My school grades satisfied my parents.
withが余分です。My parentsを主語にした場合、My parents were satisfied with my school grades.
